Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open Open 24 hours. Utica is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Utica is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

βI am a professional rideshare driver working the late-night shift. At approximately 11:45 PM on May 28, I pulled into this Fastrac location to pump gas and purchase two bottles of water. As someone on the road for hours at a time, I rely on regular, predictable route logistics and standard facility access. βThis store has a clear sign posted on the restroom door instructing customers to ask an employee to be buzzed in via their electronic security lock. I followed the store rules exactly, walked inside, and politely asked the lone night-shift employee on duty to use the restroom. βAt that exact moment, two individuals in plain clothes wearing generic police vests walked past us toward the restrooms. The employee immediately pressed the electronic buzzer to let them in. He then turned directly to me, hesitated, and told me that the bathrooms were closed for the night. βWhen I immediately called out the flat-out contradiction happening right in front of my face, the employee doubled down and explicitly stated that law enforcement is permitted to use the facilities but the general public is excluded. βLetβs look at the actual facts of this situation: β βThe store was completely e

Was just here 2 minutes ago. This absolute jerk at register, shorter, brunette with glasses said he couldnβt break a 100 dollar bill for whatever made up reason and lectured me about it and was so rude I donβt even know how to explain how rude he was. He said βeverywhere Iβve ever worked has never been able to break a 100β. It was so stupid. I reminded him that speedway does it for me all the time. It seemed as if he couldnβt wait to tell me about it when he saw me take out the 100 dollar bill. As if it was his βgotchaβ moment of the night. So corny. When I walked in initially before cashing out he was slumped over the counter looking all tired by the way. The last thing I want to deal with on my way home from a long day is some tired grown man with a mood disorder. Find workers who can handle the job.

Open 24 hours but they dont let the public use the bathrooms. Why have bathrooms at all at that point? Also the employees have trash attitudes.
